Privacy

You can play without an account. If you choose to sign in with Google, we keep only your email address and name from it. We never record your voice.

What we store

  • A random learner ID kept in one cookie that only our server can read. It lets you continue where you left off.
  • If you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, email address and name, so you can continue on any device. We do not get your password or any other data from your Google account.
  • If you buy Plus: your plan, its status and renewal date. Payment details are handled by Creem, our merchant of record; we never see your card.
  • Your learning records: which words you met, your answers, whether you used a hint, and when. We use them to schedule reviews and show your progress.
  • Your stars and notes: the words you star and the notes you write on them. Only you can see them.
  • Your time zone and browser language, so that "today" means your today.
  • Basic usage events, such as starting or finishing a round. These events never include personal details.
  • Feedback you choose to send, for example a report about a word.
  • Error reports when the app crashes in your browser: the error message, the page address without any query, and the app version. They are deleted after 30 days.

How long we keep it

The raw moves of each round are deleted 30 days after the round ends. Learning records are kept so your reviews and progress keep working. Usage events are deleted after 180 days.

If you joined through a research study invitation, the study's information sheet also applies, and the moves of your rounds are kept for the study.

Your choices

In Settings you can download all your data or delete it. Deleting removes your progress and your account on every device and cannot be undone. To continue on another device, sign in with the same Google account.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. It is stored and processed by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, to run the service. Google confirms who you are when you sign in, and Creem processes payments for Plus.
